Just found your site and am hoping to see you in action at Gettysburg.
One of my relatives ( John Morey) was the chief bugler with the 6th during the Civil war. Verified by the National Archives.

On our way back home to Western PA from Gettysburg we stopped for fuel on the turnpike and noticed a convoy of horse trailers at the pumps. Sure enough it was part of your unit returning to Ohio (I thought some of those horses smelled familiar) and I enjoyed our brief conversation while refueling. I am an Army Reserve Staff Sergeant currently on my second Iraqi Freedom mobilization. My wife and I both agree that your Living History cavalry re-enactment was clearly the high-light of our trip to Gettysburg. Thanks my friends! (By the way, with an extensive background in military training, I was greatly impressed by the discipline, coordination, and obvious devotion to skillful practice. Great work!)

So glad you enjoyed the demonstration! Those that went all reported a wonderful trip, and were thrilled at the opportunity to relive our history on such sacred ground.
It's always a great feeling when all the hard work pays off so well.

Greetings, my friends!
My wife and I went to Gettysburg to celebrate our wedding anniversary (yes, we know it is a battlefield). Anyway, thank you for the absolutely impressive demonstration of percision manuvers and military skill...and the riders appeared well-trained too! Thank you for honoring our civil war veterans of yesteryear by bringing them back to life through your re-enactment! We salute you! Draaaggoooooooons!

Hello, I just found your website. I have two relatives that fought with Company L of the 6th Ohio Volunteer Calvary. Joseph Andrews and his brother David Andrews. Joseph survived the war and became a station agent for the railroad in Franklin, PA. He was my great (x3) grandfather. David was killed at St Mary's church In June before Lee's surrender. I have been trying to locate his grave for a number of years.

My wife's great grandfather was David Meeker, of Co. D, 6th OVC who was wounded during the Reconnoissance to Hatcher's Run December 8-10. He was enlisted in the fall of 1861 and mustered out a Corporal in August, 1865.
We live in Louisville, KY.
Would your unit consider coming to the reenactment scheduled for Mill Springs, Kentucky this fall?
